§ 71.057 COMPLIANCE REQUIRED.
   (A)   The driver of every vehicle shall obey the instructions of any official traffic-control device applicable thereto and placed in accordance with the ordinances of this town, unless otherwise directed by a police officer, a member of the Fire Department, or designated town personnel.
   (B)   In the event that the traffic-control device is not working, then the driver of every vehicle shall consider that the traffic-control device requires bringing the vehicle to a complete stop, prior to proceeding through the intersection.
   (C)   Penalty. The penalty for an initial violation of this section for failure to comply with a traffic-control device shall be a fine of $50; thereafter, the penalty shall be $100 for a second violation; and thereafter $250 for a third and each subsequent violation occurring within a consecutive 12 month period. Each occurrence shall constitute a separate violation.
