(A) Chair. The President of the Town Council shall serve as Chairman of the Sanitary Board. The Sanitary Board shall select a Vice-Chairman from its members and shall elect a Secretary and a Treasurer, who need not be members of the Board. The officers selected under this section shall serve at the pleasure of the Sanitary Board.
(B) Compensation of members. Each member of the Sanitary Board is entitled to compensation, if any, that shall be fixed by the Town Council as a salary or as payment for meetings attended. Each member is also entitled to payment for reasonable expenses incurred in the performance of that member’s duties.
(C) Compensation of Secretary and Treasurer. The compensation of the Secretary and Treasurer of the Sanitary Board shall be fixed by the Town Council.
(D) Bond. The Town Council shall fix the bond required of each member of the Sanitary Board and of the Treasurer of the Board. These bonds shall be filed with the Recorder of Lake County, Indiana, pursuant to I.C. 5-4-1-5.1.
