155.01  POLITICAL ACTIVITIES.
   (a)    Definitions.
      (1)   “Employee” means any person employed by the Village of Windham in an elected or appointed position.
      (2)   “Financial assistance” means to pay, give, lend or contribute anything of value obtained in whole or in part from funds which are financed in whole or in part from loans or grants made by the United States or a Federal agency to a political group.
        (3)   “Political group” means any party, committee, organization, agency or person (natural or corporation).
   (b)    Prohibitions.  Employees must not:
      (1)   Use the official authority or influence of his or her job to influence in any way, the outcome of any election.
      (2)   Use the official authority or influence of his or her job to influence in any way the nomination of a person for any political office.
      (3)   Use the official authority or influence of his or her job to influence in any way any officer to use financial assistance for political purposes.
      (4)   Attend any political function for the purpose of supporting that political activity while displaying any evidence of the office for which the officer works, except when the officer is attending the political function in the officer’s official capacity.
