Whoever violates the provisions of this chapter shall be fined not more than fifty dollars ($50.00); however, a notification by a card or sticker may be placed on the vehicle calling attention to the owner or operator of such vehicle to the violation. If this notification is presented to the Clerk at the Police Station within seventy-two hours after the time of the violation the fine shall be five dollars ($5.00).
