(A) It shall be unlawful for any persons under the age of 16 years to be upon the public streets, alleys, public places, public grounds, or public thoroughfares of the city during the hours from 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. It shall also be unlawful for any parent, guardian or other adult person having the care or custody of any person under the age of 16 years knowingly to permit such minor person to be upon the street, alleys, public places, public grounds, or public thoroughfares of the city during the above mentioned hours.

(B) This section does not apply to a child who is:
(1) Accompanied by his or her parent, guardian, or custodian;
(2) Accompanied by an adult specified by his or her parent, guardian, or custodian; or
(3) Participating in, going to, or returning from:
(a) Lawful employment;
(b) A school sanctioned activity; or
(c) A religious event. (I.C. 31-37-3))
