Any person, persons, company or corporation procuring a license from the City Clerk-Treasurer for the purpose of running, operating or controlling any automobile or automobile hack within the corporate limits of the city shall procure of the Clerk-Treasurer, at the same time said person, persons, corporation or company procures said license, a number bearing the date and the same number of his license and place the same on the front and rear of his automobile or automobile hack, and keep the same there during the time for which he has procured a license to run and operate the automobile or automobile hack.
