(A) Outdoor business signs, whether freestanding or attached to buildings, must be approved by the City Council or its appointed delegate(s) before display. An ordinance to this effect will enhance the city’s unique character, but will allow for individual designs. Consideration for signage requirements used by franchised businesses will be given consideration, although restrictions may apply regarding size, color and placement.
(B) All neon and lighted signs, if to be used after close of business hours, are discouraged and are unlikely to be approved. Signs in place in the city on 9-1-2000 are exempt from these provisions, which, however, shall apply to the building if it is sold or if the nature of the business changes.
(C) Sign plans must be presented to Council for approval. Decisions will be given as soon as possible. In cases of rejection, suggestions for compliance will be given.
(D) An approved sign program is in place that property owners may wish to utilize. Sign boards in several sizes with a choice of background colors selected by the Community Development Design
