(A) (1) The city, by and through the City Council, does hereby adopt and ratify the provisions of KRS 83A.045 providing for a non-partisan election, as defined in the aforesaid statute.
(2) All elections shall be held in accordance with the provisions contained in KRS 83A.045 and shall be effective in the next general election held at least 240 days after the adoption of this division (A).
(B) The city, by and through the City Council, does hereby adopt and ratify that provision of KRS 83A.045, which allows it to forego conducting a non-partisan primary for the election of candidates to city offices and as a result of same, no such non-partisan primary shall be held in the future for these offices.
