(A) The keeping of bees is permitted on single-family lots and Jessamine County Schools and city-owned properties, and is prohibited at all other locations.
(B) Each beekeeper shall ensure that a convenient source of water is available within ten feet of each colony at all times that the colonies remain active outside the hive.
(C) Bee hives shall be set back a minimum of 20 feet from all property lines, as measured from the nearest point of the hive to the property line.
(D) Exception: the minimum hive setback may be reduced to ten feet from a property line when a six-foot high flyway barrier is installed between the hive and property line. The flyway barrier may be a wall or solid fence and shall continue parallel to the lot line for ten feet in either direction from the hive, or contain the hive or hives in an enclosure at least six feet in height.
