§ 50.22 USE OF FIRE HYDRANTS FOR NON-FIREFIGHTING PURPOSES.
   (A)   Individuals, contractors and businesses may not use fire hydrants for non-firefighting purposes without the express written consent of the city. If use of a fire hydrant is necessary for a non-firefighting purpose, a request can be made to City Hall stating the purpose.
   (B)   If the city deems that the use of a fire hydrant is reasonable, a water meter suitable for use on a fire hydrant will be signed out by the user, noting responsible party, equipment borrowed, date, time and beginning meter reading. The individual or firm will be billed for the cost of the water used when the meter is returned, according to the current water rate ordinance. The cost to replace or repair any equipment damaged while in the borrowing party’s care will be fully borne by the party who signed out the equipment.
