(A) No Owner Shall:
1. Permit any animal to habitually or regularly snap, growl, snarl, jump on, hiss, spit on, or otherwise threaten persons lawfully using any street, sidewalk, passageway, play area, or other public right-of-way or place.
2. Permit any animal to chase, run after, or jump at vehicles using public rights-of-way.
3. Permit any animal to damage or destroy any property of another.
4. Permit a dog or cat anyplace within the Village unless such dog or cat has a collar firmly attached around its neck with a current vaccination tag affixed to such collar.
5. Permit any animal to defecate on any property other than that of the owner unless said owner causes such excrement to be removed immediately.
(B) No Person Shall:
1. Own, capture, breed, train or lease any animal which is intended for use in any activity involving a fight between such animal and any other animal or the intentional killing of any animal for the purpose of sport, wagering or entertainment.
2. Promote, conduct, carry on, advertise, collect money for or in any other manner assist or aid in the presentation for purposes of sport, wagering or entertainment any show, exhibition, program or other activity involving a fight between two (2) or more animals or the intentional killing of any animal.
3. Sell, offer for sale, ship, transport or otherwise move, deliver or receive any animal which has been captured, bred or trained, or will be used to fight another animal or be intentionally killed, for the purpose of sport, wagering or entertainment.
4. Manufacture for sale, shipment, transportation or delivery any device or equipment which is intended for use in any activity featuring or otherwise involving a fight between two (2) or more animals or the intentional killing of any animal for purposes of sport, wagering or entertainment.
5. Sell or offer for sale, ship, transport or otherwise move any equipment or device which is intended for use in connection with any show, exhibition, program or activity featuring or otherwise involving a fight between two (2) or more animals or the intentional killing of any animal for purposes of sport, wagering or entertainment.
6. Make available any site, structure or facility which is intended to be used for the purpose of conducting any activity involving a fight between two (2) or more animals or the intentional killing of any animal.
(C) Leghold Traps: No person shall use or permit the use of any leghold animal trap or similar device with spring-activated jaws of the type used for the trapping of fur-bearing animals.
(D) Killing Or Injuring: Except as otherwise specifically provided in this chapter, no person shall wilfully injure or kill any animal or cause it unnecessary fright, pain, or suffering.
(E) Poison: No person shall place or expose any poison of any kind, including poisoned drink, for any animal on the premises of another or in any unenclosed place. (Ord. 87-O-48, 11-23-1987)
