For the purpose of this chapter, the following words shall have the following meanings ascribed to them respectively:
(a) "Person" includes all persons, natural and artificial, and includes but is not limited to private corporations, partnerships, associations, employers, lessees, lessors, managers, agents, owners or assignors.
(b) "Public picnics, carnivals and other exhibitions" hereinafter referred to as an "event" includes but is not limited to any event to which the public is encouraged to attend or invited and for which the public pays a fee, price or charge for admission or from which any person charges or receives any compensation for the sale of food, beverage or other merchandise or from which any person charges or receives any compensation for rides, exhibits, dances or other forms of amusement.
(c) "Place" of picnic, carnival or exhibition shall include within any structure, temporary or otherwise, or out in the open; or within or under any canvas, tent or pavilion. (Ord. 1985-3. Passed 3-14-85.)
