The purpose of this chapter is to regulate the installation and/or use of alarm systems in commercial and residential properties within the City. The intent is to regulate the high percentage of false alarms received from such alarm systems which have the effect of unduly overburdening the Police and Fire Departments. This overburdening diverts police, fire and EMS resources from other legitimate matters of public safety and concern.
