Whoever violates or fails to comply with any of the provisions of this article or any order of the Director of Public Services shall be fined not less than $100, nor more than $600, or the maximum penalty permitted by the state law for each and every offense or imprisoned for not more than 30 days, or both. Whenever such person has been notified by the Director or by service or summons in prosecution, or in any other way, that he or she is committing a violation, each day such violation continues shall constitute a separate offense.
