(A) Creation of office. The office of Building Inspector, who shall be known as Building Official, is hereby created.
(B) Appointment of Building Official. The Building Official shall be appointed by and under the general control of the City Manager.
(C) Duties of Building Official. It shall be the duties of the Building Official to enforce all laws relating to the construction, alteration, repair, removal and demolition of buildings and structures. To the extent that the Building Official and the Fire Chief have overlapping duties, they shall act jointly. The Building Official, or his or her designee, shall also act as the Plumbing and Electrical Inspector, Fire Marshal and Code Enforcement Officer.
(D) Classification. For purposes of personnel actions, the Building Official shall be a “classified” employee.
