§ 56.051 DESIGNATED FREEWAY ACCESS.
   (A)   ILCS Ch. 605, Act 5, § 8-101 et seq., as amended, grants the authority to a county board to designate particular highways on the county highway system as freeways for the purpose of promoting the safety and convenience of highway traffic by regulating access to the freeway. This designation may also apply to approach roads which intersect or approach the freeway. A permit for an access to such freeways shall be termed a "designated freeway access permit." Requirements shall follow the relevant access classification (agricultural, minimum, minor, or major). The county board has the sole authority to grant or deny new points of access or changes, modifications, and/or revisions to existing points of access in accordance with ILCS Ch. 605, Act 5, § 8-102 et seq. as amended.
   (B)   A list of designated county freeways is listed in the Technical Reference Manual.
