Work on property and improvements so designated pursuant to this chapter shall be regulated as follows:
(A) Landmarks. No significant alterations, exterior construction, exterior or interior alteration which may affect the exterior appearance demolition may be performed on property and structures which have been designated under this chapter as landmarks, except as shall be approved by a Certificate of Appropriateness.
(B) Preservation districts. No significant alterations, exterior construction or exterior demolition or interior alteration which may affect the exterior appearance may be performed on property and structures located within an area which is designated under this chapter as a preservation district, except as shall be approved by a Certificate of Appropriateness.
