§ 36.020 VACATIONS; HOLIDAYS.
   (A)   All employees of the county employed for more than one year shall be allowed one week’s vacation with pay; employees having two years or more shall be allowed two weeks’ vacation with pay; employees having seven or more years of service are to be allowed three weeks’ vacation with pay; and employees with 12 or more years of service are to be allowed four weeks’ vacation with pay.
      (1)   If an observed holiday falls within an employee’s vacation and if the employee is entitled to holiday pay for that holiday under (B) below, he or she shall, at the option of the employer, receive either one additional day of paid vacation, or an amount of money equal to his or her regular base rate of pay for one working day.
      (2)   An employee whose employment is terminated shall be paid his or her earned vacation pay, if any.
   (B)   New Year’s Day, Lincoln’s Birthday, Washington’s Birthday, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans’ Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day shall be observed as holidays when falling on regular working days.
      (1)   Employees who have been employed by the employer for at least 30 consecutive days shall receive holiday pay for each holiday which falls on a regular work day. An employee’s holiday pay shall be his or her regular base rate of pay for one working day.
      (2)   In order to qualify for holiday pay, an employee must work his or her last regularly scheduled shift before the holiday and his or her first regularly scheduled shift after the holiday; however, proven sickness or disability which prevents an employee from working on either day shall not disqualify him or her from holiday pay.
         (a)   Holidays falling on Sunday. Holidays falling on Sunday shall be observed on Monday. Employees required to work on the calendar holiday shall be paid at the rate of double time his or her hourly rate.
         (b)   Holiday schedule. Annually, the County Board specifies the paid holidays for the coming year. All employees shall have time off, with full salary payment, on the following holidays:
            1.   New Year’s Day;
            2.   Lincoln’s Birthday;
            3.   Washington’s Birthday;
            4.   Good Friday;
            5.   Memorial Day;
            6.   Independence Day;
            7.   Labor Day;
            8.   Columbus Day;
            9.   Veterans’ Day;
            10.   Thanksgiving Day; and
            11.   Christmas Day.
