(A) It is the responsibility of the developer or a municipality within the county which has entered into an intergovernmental agreement with the county to use the county address system to propose street names to the county 9-1-1 emergency telephone system. The 9-1-1 emergency telephone system will in turn verify all street names to eliminate duplicate names in emergency service areas. It is the responsibility of the county emergency telephone system to maintain and update an accurate and up to date street name data base (MAT) for all portions of the county.
(B) The developer of all new subdivisions shall furnish the initial road signs, the sign post and ensure the installation of the road signs to standard specifications. All signs shall be installed before the construction of buildings begins and shall be maintained by the developer at all times until the dedication of the streets is accepted by the appropriate unit of government.
