(A) There is created the position of Building Inspector.
(B) It shall be the duty of the Building Inspector to issue building permits and certificates of occupancy and to see that the ordinances pertaining to building, planning, and zoning in the city are complied with, and to do all other things provided in all other ordinances of the city and laws of the state.
(C) The compensation to be paid to the Building Inspector shall be determined from time to time under a contractual arrangement with the city and the Building Inspector.
