It shall be unlawful for the owner of a dog or cat to allow or permit his or her dog or cat to damage the property of others or to cause bodily injury. If the owner is adjudged guilty of a violation of this section, the court may, in addition to the penalty provided for the violation of this code, order such disposition or destruction of the offending dog or cat as may seem reasonable and proper.
