(A) All reports and returns of taxes received by the Town Manager covered by this subchapter shall be preserved for three years and thereafter until the Town Manager orders them to be destroyed.
(B) Except in accordance with judicial order or as otherwise provided by law, the Town Manager shall not divulge or make known in any way any information disclosed in any document, report or return filed in connection with any of the taxes covered by this section. The officials charged with the custody of such documents, reports and returns shall not be required to produce any of them or evidence of anything contained in them in any action or proceeding in any court, except on behalf of the town.
(C) Nothing in this section shall be construed to prohibit the publication of statistics so classified as to prevent the identification of particular reports or returns and the items thereof or the inspection of returns by the Town Attorney, or other legal representatives of the town.
