For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definition shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
ALARM.
(1) A signal from a system requiring the dispatch of a police officer, and false alarm means a signal from an alarm system which is determined by the Chief of Police, or his or her designee, to have been made in error, as the result of electrical or electronic malfunction, or deliberately made by the person in control of said alarm system.
(2) Notwithstanding the foregoing, this subchapter shall not apply to medical alert systems.
