§ 30.16 APPOINTED OFFICERS.
   (A)   Officers; appointment; term. There shall be appointed by the Board of Trustees, within 30 days of each regular election, the following town officers: a town clerk, a town treasurer and a town attorney. The Board may appoint such other officers it may deem necessary for the good government of the town, including a Town Manager and Chief of Police. The Board, if desired, may appoint one person to hold the offices of Town Clerk and Town Treasurer. Vacancies shall be filled in the same manner as original appointments. No appointment of any officer shall continue beyond 30 days after compliance with C.R.S. § 31-4-401 by the members of the succeeding Board of Trustees after each regular election.
   (B)   Powers and duties of appointed officers. Appointed officers of the town shall have such power and perform such duties as are now or hereafter may be prescribed by state law and the ordinances of the town, and shall further perform any additional duties required by the Board of Trustees, and shall be subject to the control and orders of the Board of Trustees.
   (C)   Oath of office; bond. Appointed officers of the town shall, before entering upon the duties of office, take and subscribe to an oath to support the U.S. Constitution, the Colorado Constitution and the ordinances of the town. Unless waived by the Board of Trustees, there shall be required of the Town Treasurer a bond in such sum as is required, conditioned on the faithful performance of all duties pertaining to such office and the proper care of all money or property of the town coming into his or her hands. The Board may waive the foregoing requirement for a bond and may require like bond from such other officers as the Board determines.
   (D)   Removal of appointed officers. The Town Clerk, Town Treasurer and Town Attorney may be removed by a majority vote of all the members of the Board of Trustees. No such removal shall be made without a charge in writing and an opportunity of a hearing being given.
