(A) Gas shall be supplied only through meter and the meter shall be read monthly by a representative of the city. Bills shall be sent out within the first ten days of the month following the reading of the meter. Such bills shall be sent out and shall be collected by a representative of the city.
(B) If any such bill shall not be paid on or before the expiation of ten days from date thereof a penalty of 10% of the amount of the bill shall be added thereto and collected therewith. If any such bill shall remain delinquent in excess of $50 or for longer than 60 days, gas service shall be disconnected, subject to the notice and hearing requirements set forth in § 50.60(F), and shall not be reconnected except upon payment of all delinquent bills, together with a connection charge of as determined from time to time by the City Council. In case of a change in the occupancy of any premises the new occupant shall not be charged with the delinquencies of the prior occupant, but the gas shall be reconnected upon the payment of the reconnection charge as determined from time to time by the City Council. A disconnection charge as determined from time to time by the City Council shall be made in each instance where service is disconnected.
(C) (1) Upon vacation by a tenant of his or her rented premises, and there being an unpaid bill for natural gas consumption which has not been paid within ten days from its due date, service to that premises shall be disconnected.
(2) Service shall be reconnected only when the delinquent account has been paid by the vacating party, the landlord, from the deposit, if any, or any other party.
