As used in this chapter, certain terms are defined as follows:
(a) "Game room" means a building, room, enclosure, premises, place or establishment in the City which contains more than four mechanical amusement devices, other than coin-operated bowling machines or coin-operated pool tables, which require coins or tokens for the operation of such mechanical amusement device; provided, however, that any area of a motel or hotel which may contain mechanical devices shall not be considered a game room.
(b) "Decibels" means a unit for the measurement of relative sound levels as indicated by a sound level meter conforming with the American Standards Association Specification Z.24.3-1944.
(c) "Director of Finance" means the duly appointed or acting Director of Finance of the City.
(d) "Mayor" means the duly elected or acting Mayor of the City.
(e) "Mechanical amusement device" means a machine or device which, upon the insertion of a coin or slug, operates or may be operated for use as a game, contest or amusement of any description, or which may be used for any such game, contest or amusement.
