§ 50.012 ABANDONMENT OF SERVICE.
   (A)   In case any water service line should have to be abandoned, the owner of the water service to be abandoned shall cut off the water service line at the curb stop within five days after the water service has been discontinued, and the curb stop riser must be dug up and removed in the presence of the Public Works Director, or a representative of the city.
   (B)   If said action does not take place, the city shall cause the same to be turned off and the costs of turning off said service, plus a charge of 15% of said costs and an administrative fee of $50, shall be assessed to the property owner. There shall be no back filling of the trench at the point which the water service has been turned off until the curb stop has been inspected by the Public Works Director, or a representative of the city.
