It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in business as an electrician or plumber, or electrical contractor or plumbing contractor, within the jurisdiction of the city unless such person is licensed under state law. The electrician or plumber shall furnish to the Building Department satisfactory evidence of his or her license with the state before a contractor’s license can be issued.
