No person, except a law enforcement officer, may discharge a FIREARM, as defined by SDCL § 22-1-2, or an air gun within the city limits. An AIR GUN is defined as a rifle or pistol in which the projectile is propelled by compressed air or a carbon dioxide cartridge. In addition to the criminal penalty, any firearm or air gun used in violation of this section is hereby declared to be contraband, and may be confiscated by law enforcement.
