§ 31.17 SICK LEAVE AND EMERGENCY LEAVE.
   All full-time employees and officers duly appointed or hired hereunder shall be entitled to six days of sick leave per year with full pay, with a maximum of 45 days of accumulation. Sick leave cannot be taken or used as vacation time. In the event of an emergency, the employee will contact one Commissioner directly related to his or her line of work, with that the Commissioner responsible for letting the Mayor and other five Common Council members know, as soon as possible, that the employee has an emergency situation and will be gone. Either the employee must use vacation time for said emergency, or when the emergency is based on the employee’s personal illness, sick leave can be used.
