If, after three months from the date of mailing the notice of removal and storage provided for by this subchapter, the vehicle shall remain unclaimed, such vehicle may be sold by the Police Department at public auction upon notice to be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the county not less than once a week for two consecutive weeks.
