§ 157.14 MAILBOX OBSTRUCTIONS.
   (A)   The city shall not be responsible for the repair or replacement of any mailbox placed within any PROW.
   (B)   However, to alleviate the possibility of damage due to snow removal and vehicular traffic, the following guidelines shall be complied with.
      (1)   Mailboxes shall be erected so that the front of a curbside box is set back at least 12 inches from the face of the concrete curb and the structure supporting the box must not encroach on this setback distance.
      (2)   The bottom of a mailbox must be between 42 inches and 48 inches above the finished road surface.
      (3)   Mailboxes and the standards or posts upon which they are erected must be designed and installed to withstand the impact of snow hurled from a passing snowplow.
      (4)   Mailboxes shall not overhang a public sidewalk or pedestrian way.
