§ 155.030 LOCATIONS AND BOUNDARIES OF DISTRICTS.
   (A)   The locations and boundaries of each of the zoning districts shall be shown on the map accompanying this chapter and made a part hereof entitled “Official Zoning Map, City of Whiteville and Surrounding Area” adopted by the City Council. The zoning map, and all the notations, references and amendments thereto and other information show, are hereby made a part of this chapter. The zoning map shall be kept on file in the City's Planning and Inspections office and shall be available for inspection by the public.
   (B)   The boundaries of the districts, as are shown upon the map attached to this chapter, are hereby adopted. The provisions of this chapter governing within each type of district the use of land and buildings, height of buildings, building site areas, sizes of yards around buildings and other matters as are hereinafter set forth, are hereby established and declared to be in effect upon all land included within the boundaries of each and every district as shown upon the map.
   (C)   Where uncertainty exists with respect to the boundaries of any of the aforesaid districts as shown on the zoning map, the following rules shall apply.
      (1)   Where district boundaries are indicated as approximately following street right-of-way lines, alley right-of-way lines or the lines extended, these lines shall be construed to be the boundaries.
      (2)   Where a district boundary divides a lot, the location of the boundary, unless the same is indicated by dimensions on the zoning map, shall be 150 feet from the nearest street which it parallels.
      (3)   Whenever a single lot two acres or less in size is located within two or more different zoning districts, the district regulations applicable to the district within the larger portion of the lot lies shall apply to the entire lot.
      (4)   Boundaries indicated as approximately following city corporate limits shall be construed as following the city corporate limits.
      (5)   Boundaries indicated as following railroad lines shall be construed to be midway between the main tracts.
      (6)   Boundaries indicated as following shorelines shall be construed to follow the shorelines, and in the event of change in the shoreline shall be construed as moving with the actual shoreline; boundaries indicated as approximately following the centerlines of streams, rivers, canals, lakes or other bodies of water shall be construed to follow the centerlines.
      (7)   Where physical or cultural features existing on the ground are at variance with those shown on the official zoning map, or in other circumstances not covered by divisions (C)(1) through (C)(6) above, the Board of Adjustment shall interpret the district boundaries.
