§ 154.008 AMENDMENT PROCEDURE.
   This chapter may be amended from time to time by the City Council, but no amendment shall become effective unless it shall have been submitted to the Planning Board for review and recommendations. The Planning Board shall have 30 days within which to submit its report. If the Planning Board fails to submit a report within the specified time, the Council may move forward with action on the proposed amendment. Further, no amendment to this chapter shall become effective until the City Council has held a public hearing on the proposed amendment. Notice of the public hearing shall be published once per week for two successive weeks in a newspaper of general circulation within the planning area. The notice shall be first published not less than ten days nor more than 25 days prior to the date fixed for the hearing. The notice shall indicate the date, time and place of the hearing and shall include a statement of the substance of the proposed amendment. Hearing procedures shall follow those outlined in §§ 155.305 through 155.311 (Zoning).
