(A) No person may keep within the city’s corporate limits any fowl except in accordance with this section. It shall be unlawful for any person to maintain, keep, fence or house any turkeys or guineas within the corporate limits of the city.
(B) Any fowl kept within the corporate limits of the city must be contained by a fence, building or other enclosure that will ensure that the fowl will not run at-large. No free-ranging permitted, fowl must be kept in a chicken coop or enclosed runs at all times and are not permitted to roam freely on the owner’s lot.
(C) Any fowl found running at-large may be taken into possession by the City Animal Control Officer and the city will attempt to find volunteers to take and care for the fowl.
(D) It is unlawful for any person within the city limits to have fowl for the purposes of breeding and to be destined for both commercial egg and meat production.
(E) All manure and wood shavings from the coop/enclosures must be disposed of properly by removing off-site by the owner or professional removal service.
(F) It shall be unlawful to own or harbor chickens or other fowl for the purpose of fighting or training for fight.
