§ 51.033 INITIATION OF PROJECTS OUTSIDE THE CORPORATE LIMITS.

   (A)   The city may permit extension of water and/or sewer service outside the city’s corporate limits.

   (B)   The following provisions shall apply:

      (1)   All requests for extension of water and/or sewer service shall be in writing;

      (2)   The applicant shall agree to the provisions of §§ 51.031 and 51.032; and

      (3)   The application (or request) for service shall include a petition from the owner requesting annexation or, if not practical, a statement setting forth the reasons why annexation would not be practical. The City Council shall have the authority to waive this requirement when, in its opinion, annexation would not be practical, legally possible or would not be in the best interest of the city.
