§ 52.21  WATER METER ACCURACY CHECKS.
   (A)   (1)   A water customer may request to have his or her water meter checked for accuracy. Upon request, the customer must deposit the sum of $25 for a meter testing fee.
      (2)   Upon receipt of the deposit, city personnel will remove the meter and take it to the water plant for calibration. The customer is encouraged to observe the removal and calibration check.
      (3)   Adjustments will be made to the customer’s bill by removing all charges for use above average if the meter tests faulty (2% fast), and the $25 deposit will be refunded.
      (4)   A customer shall forfeit his or her deposit if the meter tests accurate (less than 2%).
   (B)   Customers may have their meter re-read if the first reading indicated the monthly use of 2,000 gallons or more above average, and upon request, city personnel will explain to customers how to read their meters. There will be no charge for this repeat reading.
   (C)   Customers may request to have the water pressure checked on the main line or at their homes. There is no charge for these checks.
