§ 37.03  ASSISTANT MUNICIPAL JUDGE.
   The Mayor may, at his or her discretion, appoint an Assistant Municipal Judge to serve in the same capacity as the Municipal Judge and may serve in the absence of the Municipal Judge whenever necessary. The person(s) so appointed as Assistant Municipal Judge shall be an at-will employee and shall serve at the will and pleasure of the Mayor. The Assistant Municipal Judge shall be paid a monthly salary and such amount shall be agreed upon by the Assistant Municipal Judge and the Mayor. This amount shall be a set monthly salary and shall not be based on a per diem. The Assistant Municipal Judge must meet all requirements as set forth in W.Va. Code §§ 8-10-2(a), (b) and (c) for Municipal Judges. The person(s) so appointed as Assistant Municipal Judge shall give bond in an amount fixed by Council, under which bond he or she shall be responsible for all funds coming into his or her hands by virtue of such appointment.
