Repairs shall be made by the persons or utilities obtaining the permit to the extent of backfilling the trench and thoroughly tamping by use of compressed air tamping equipment the same to the finished surface of the pavement. On paved streets and lawn strips, the trench shall be backfilled and tamped or flushed and all grass strips shall be sodded. All repairs herein referred to shall be made subject to the approval of the Street Commissioner.
