§ 1.7.1 POLICY ON OVERTIME.
   (A)   It is the policy of the City that none of its employees shall perform any work which results in overtime or compensation time without the prior approval of the Mayor. The exceptions to this policy under which no approval from the Mayor is required are as follows.
   (B)   The City Superintendent and any employee in the department need not seek the Mayor’s prior approval when there is a substantial emergency with regard to the water system, for example a break in a water main.
   (C)   One City employee, either the City Superintendent or an employee in the department, may check the water reservoir, chlorination facility or water well once on Saturdays and once on Sundays without the Mayor’s prior approval.
   (D)   A copy of this policy shall be distributed to all employees of the City. Failure of any employee to follow the terms of this policy may, at the option of the City, result in immediate dismissal from employment without prior warning or reprimand.
