(A) The City Secretary, as herein provided for, shall take the oath and be bonded as provided under the general laws of the state or of other ordinances of this municipality.

(B) The City Secretary shall execute a bond, payable to the municipality, as required by law, conditioned that the Municipal Secretary will faithfully perform the duties of the office. The Council shall determine the amount of the bond at least annually. If the Council fails to determine the amount of the bond for the succeeding year, the amount last prescribed shall continue to be the amount of bond required. Such bond shall be a corporate surety bond and the municipality shall pay all costs, premiums, and expenses connected therewith.
(C) The City Secretary shall receive such compensation as may be fixed by the City Council.
