§ 39.010 APPOINTMENT; RESIDENCY; TERM OF OFFICE.
   (A)   Appointment. The City Council shall appoint a City Secretary from nominees by the Mayor, or if same are not acceptable, from those nominees by the City Council.
   (B)   Residence of City Secretary. The City Secretary may or may not be a resident of the City when appointed, but during the term of his or her office may be required to reside in the city pursuant to Tex. Local Gov't Code § 150.021(b)(2).
   (C)   Term of office. The City Secretary shall be appointed for an indefinite period and shall be subject to discharge at the will of the City Council.
