§ 34.20 OFFICE OF MUNICIPAL JUDGE CREATED; APPOINTMENT; COMPENSATION; OATH.
   (A)   The City Council, upon the recommendation of the mayor, shall appoint the municipal judge for terms of two years with the initial appointment of said judge to not extend beyond the date of the canvass of votes in the municipal election for mayor of the city, with subsequent appointments to be for a two year period from said date.
   (B)   It is further provided that should the corporation or city judge be disabled, ill, or absent from the jurisdiction of the city, that the mayor of the city shall serve in the capacity of the said city or corporation judge as originally provided for in article 208 of the revised ordinances of the city, but that said mayor shall not receive any additional salary for the period of time for which he serves as said corporation of city judge.
