(A) The city hereby offers a reward of up to $500 for information that results in the arrest and conviction of any person or group of persons found guilty of committing the theft or criminal damage to property owned or in the care and custody of the city when committed within the corporate limits of the city. This reward is a standing offer and shall be paid out of the general fund of the city.
(B) Application for a reward under this section shall be made to the Chief of Police, who will determine the validity of the claim and report his or her findings to the City Administrator.
