There is hereby adopted, for the purpose of regulating and governing the construction, alteration, movement, enlargement, replacement, repair, equipment, location, removal and demolition of detached one- and two-family dwellings and multiple single family dwellings (townhouses) not more than three stories in height with separate means of egress; providing for the issuance of permits and collection of fees thereof, that certain building code known as the International Residential Code, edition 2018, being particularly the most recently published edition thereof, save and except such portions as are hereinafter deleted, modified or amended, of which not less than one copy is filed in the office of the Building Official of the municipality and the same is hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein, and from the date on which this chapter shall take effect, the provisions thereof shall be controlling in the construction of all buildings and structures therein contained within the corporate limits of the municipality.
