8.04.110: ADOPTION POLICY:
The animal control officer may offer apparently healthy dogs for adoption at the end of the claiming period set forth in subsection 8.04.100A of this chapter, upon the following conditions:
   A.   That the adoptive owner obtain a valid rabies tag or certificate from a licensed veterinarian stating that the dog has been inoculated with suitable vaccines for the prevention of rabies, or a statement from a licensed veterinarian that the dog should not be so vaccinated, and present the same to the animal control officer within fifteen (15) days of adoption.
   B.   That the dog be neutered or spayed at the expense of the adoptive owner. Exceptions to this subsection may be granted by the board of county commissioners in rare circumstances.
   C.   That the dog shall have a stamp tattoo or other mark applied as described by subsection 8.04.040D of this chapter. (Ord. 521, 2021: Ord. 321 (part), 1997)
