6.02.070: FRANCHISEE; GARBAGE COLLECTION DUTIES:
The franchisee shall be required to:
   A.   Guarantee that garbage service shall be available to the residents of the town of Ruth, town of McGill and to residents residing within one mile on each side of the McGill Highway and the Ruth Highway at all times, and that all garbage within this specified area shall be removed in an expeditious manner and in accordance with the terms of the franchise;
   B.   Collect garbage from all residences, multi-residences, business locations, public places and any other locations wherever situated in the town of Ruth, town of McGill, and within one mile on each side of the McGill Highway and Ruth Highway at least once a week. If desired, collections may be requested on a regular basis two (2) times a week, three (3) times a week or six (6) times a week. If a request for additional service, either regular, intermittent or isolated, is made, the franchisee shall provide such additional regular, intermittent or isolated service. The only exception to the requirement that garbage be collected once a week at residences shall be garbage pick up once a month for those persons who apply with the franchisee for a permit allowing garbage collection only once a month. The permit shall be allowed only upon approval by the city-county district health department of White Pine County;
   C.   Guarantee that in the collection of garbage from any location in the town of Ruth, town of McGill, and within one mile on each side of the McGill Highway and the Ruth Highway, care shall be taken to deposit all garbage inside the collection truck, leaving no evidence or bits within said area or on any private property used for the collection of garbage;
   D.   Provide safe, adequate and clean equipment which is constructed in such a manner as to be completely covered so as to prevent sifting, spilling, dripping or blowing of any of the garbage contained therein upon any of the streets, alleys or public places in the town of Ruth, town of McGill, or within one mile on each side of the McGill Highway and Ruth Highway. The equipment used by the franchisee shall be adequate and watertight. The outside of the equipment shall be kept free from dirt, and the inside of the garbage carriers shall be thoroughly cleaned at the end of each day;
   E.   Guarantee that the operators of the equipment shall use decent language, be sober and treat the public courteously at all times;
   F.   Vehicles and containers used for the collection and transportation of garbage and similar putrescible waste shall be tightly covered, leakproof, durable and of easily cleanable construction. Such vehicles and containers shall be cleaned frequently to prevent nuisance and insect breeding, and shall be maintained in good repair. (Ord. 11/6/74 §6(1), 1974)
