(A) The streets and intersections described hereinafter are declared to be stop intersections. Unless otherwise directed by a police officer or when stop signs are placed at the entrance to through streets or stop intersections, the driver of a vehicle approaching such signs shall stop as required by law at any marked line on the roadway or, if none, before entering any crosswalk or the intersection.
(1) A four-way stop is hereby created and stop signs designating such a four-way stop are to be erected at the following intersections:

(B) The Town Street Department, in conjunction with the Town Marshall, are hereby instructed and authorized to erect stop signs at all intersections herein defined, denominating the preferential streets and instructing traffic entering thereon to stop and further to erect said stop signs as have been individually indicated, directing traffic to give preference at intersections as herein set out as stop intersections.
