§ 33.20  APPOINTMENT; TERM; QUALIFICATIONS; REMOVAL.
   The Chief of the Fire Department (the Chief) shall be appointed by the Board of Commissioners for an indefinite period of time, and his or her tenure of office shall depend upon his or her good conduct and efficiency.  The Chief shall be technically qualified by training and experience and shall have ability to command other persons and hold their respect and confidence.  He or she shall be removed only for just cause and after a public hearing before the Board of Commissioners.
