§ 151.02  ADOPTION OF CODES.
   (A)   (1)   (a)   Pursuant to authority granted by G.S. §§ 143-138(b) and (e), the codes enumerated in this section governing building regulations and plumbing and electrical installations are hereby adopted as the minimum regulations within the corporate limits for the types of buildings described.
         (b)   All buildings hereafter erected, enlarged, altered, repaired, moved, converted to other uses, or demolished, and all plumbing and electrical installations, shall comply in all respects with the requirements of the applicable code.
      (2)   (a)   Building codes.
            1.   All buildings, other than one- and two-family dwellings and temporary buildings, or sheds not exceeding 20 feet in length or width and used exclusively for construction purposes, shall be regulated by the North Carolina Building Code, 2002 Edition, including the amendments thereto as may be prepared and published from time to time by the North Carolina Building Code Council and approved by the State Commissioner of Insurance.
            2.   One- and two-family dwellings shall be regulated by the North Carolina Residential Code, 2002 Edition, as found in Volume I-B of the North Carolina State Building Code, and the amendments thereto as may be published from time to time by the North Carolina Building Code Council.
         (b)   Plumbing code.  Plumbing installations in all buildings shall be regulated by the North Carolina Plumbing Code, 2002 Edition, and the amendments thereto as may be prepared and published from time to time by the North Carolina Building Code Council and approved by the State Commissioner of Insurance.
         (c)   Electrical code.  Electrical installations in all buildings shall be regulated by the North Carolina Electrical Code, 2002 Edition, as approved by the American Standards Association and as adopted in North Carolina Building Code, 2002 Edition, and the amendments thereto as may from time to time be published by the NFPA.
         (d)   Mobile home code.  Mobile homes shall be regulated by the State of North Carolina Regulations for Manufactured Homes, 2004 Edition, as contained in G.S. §§ 143-143.8 et seq.

   (B)   An official, up-to-date copy of each regulatory code adopted in division (A) above shall be placed and maintained in the Office of the Town Clerk.
